The Temuka Golf Club competes each year in the Aorangi Golf Association’s interclub Pennant competitions. There are 7 divisions and the club enters 6 of these divisions. The competition is match play in all divisions. The top three divisions are played on the stroke score and the remaining 4 are played on handicap. There are team handicap limits for the handicap grades so no matter what your handicap is if you like match play golf there is a grade to accommodate you. The matches are normally played on the 3rd Sunday of the month April to September except for the Penney Salver which is played on the 2nd Monday of the month February to November. The club normally enters teams in the following divisions
Hayes Cup match play gross score open
Redpath Cup match play gross score 6 handicap index or greater at first playing date
Patterson Cup match play with Handicap maximum team handicap of 81
Alexander Cup match play with handicap maximum team handicap of 96
Moyes Cup match play with handicap minimum team handicap of 104
Penney Salver match play with handicap age 50 plus
If you enjoy match play golf and playing other courses put your name down when nominations are called for teams in February/March each year.
