8 couples competed for the Green Family Trophy yesterday (21 March) – the winners with a combined stableford score were Pam Taylor with a great score of 40 points with John Gould 34 giving them a winning total of 74 stableford points.

Second placed were Willy Powell and Steve Mackle – 69

and were Elizabeth and Dick Marryatt scoring 66 points between them.

Nearest to the pin on No. 9 was Denzil Chin Fatt.

Thanks to the group of ladies along with Phil C and Dick M who assisted the group of keen gardeners to clear and spread pine needles around the rhododendron dell to the west side of the practice nets.  We are reliably informed that rhodos and camellias enjoy the acidic properties given by pine needles. The area looks a lot tidier and we hope to add further to this cover later on.
